Become a Coop Campus
Adding a chicken coop to your campus can be a powerful addition to your students’ education. Integrating chickens into the school curriculum offers a unique way to enrich student learning across multiple content areas. Chickens provide daily opportunities for experiential education as students observe life cycles, animal behavior, and sustainable food systems firsthand and encourage responsibility and empathy as students take part in daily care. Chickens provide a living example of how agriculture connects to our everyday lives. Chickens have a way of transforming abstract concepts for any age into tangible, memorable experiences that enrich multiple subject areas and foster a deeper connection between students and nature. By weaving chickens into the curriculum, schools cultivate not only knowledge but also practical skills
Chicken Curriculum
Chickens can be used in many different ways to promote learning. In science, students can study chicken biology, life cycles, and ecosystems; in math, they can calculate feed ratios or egg production statistics. Social studies lessons come alive when exploring the history of domestication and the role of agriculture in human societies, while language arts can incorporate research or creative writing inspired by daily observations. Beyond academics, chickens extend learning outside the classroom by fostering responsibility, teamwork, and environmental stewardship through hands-on care and sustainable food practices.

Picking a Coop for Your Campus

All our chicken coop models are labeled with recommended chicken capacity and estimated weekly egg production for easy shopping. We recommend any of our walk in series coops as they allow children to walk inside and experience your flock first hand.
